afrikawit:

I was walking around downtown earlier today and decided to get a tattoo. I do shit on impulse. Always.

The woman who worked on me was Mreeuh Chang. She’s an apprentice, but one of the best in my opinion. Great spirit, and she did a phenomenal job on me.

I got the outline of Africa with an Adinkra symbol inside (Mmere Dane). It means a lot to me and couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.

Here’s Mreeuh’s site. Check her out and show love.

Beauty is the ugliest addiction. I’d love to tattoo this on someone.

"Your ability to express is simply your ability to absorb. You can give only in proportion as you are enabled to receive-no more, no less. You can draw forth that which you have the capacity to discern. You can adjust yourself to those planes of existence only of which you are conscious. This is rue upon all planes of existence; physical, mental, moral or spiritual."

This was my first attempt at tattooing paintbrush strokes. I’ve been painting longer than I’ve been tattooing so this was a huge pleasure to do. I would love to explore this technique more by doing more pieces with brush strokes.

“Om” or “Aum” is a sacred syllable believed to be the sound of the beginning of creation. The divine, all-encompassing consciousness took the form of the first and original vibration manifesting as sound “Aum”.
